Fire testing of solar panels is required by standards that evaluate the modules or systems. The test involves:

Evaluating the spread of flame on the surface of the module
Ensuring that no burning or glowing part of the PV module falls off the test rig Limiting the lateral flame spread
The flame spread should not exceed:
Class A - 1.82 m
Class B - 2.40 m
Class C - 3.90 m
